Supporter email addresses
Supporters who sign up to receive our newsletter submit an email address which is added to our mailing list, maintained in MailChimp (a third party service provider). MailChimp holds our mailing list information in line with its own Privacy Policy which can be viewed on their website.
Remembering Not to Forget will only use your email address in line with the consent obtained at the time of subscription, i.e. for sharing news of our work to support people impacted by dementia, including fundraising activity. You can unsubscribe at any time by following the link in our emails, or sending a message to info@rememberingnottoforget.org.uk.
Online donations
Online donations are processed by BT MyDonate, an independent third party responsible for complying with all relevant legislation. No payment details are collected or held by Remembering Not to Forget. Donation details are held by BT MyDonate in accordance with the BT MyDonate Privacy Policy.
Summary information detailing donations received and associated Gift Aid claimed by BT MyDonate on behalf of Remembering Not to Forget is downloaded by trustees to support the preparation of the published accounts each year. Donor names and addresses are included in these downloads, however they are not needed for the accounts and are therefore deleted from transaction listings to protect your personal data. These anonymised transaction listings are retained for 6 years in line with requirements of the Charities Act.
When you make a donation you are asked whether you are happy to hear from Remembering Not to Forget. If you agree to us contacting you, your details will be passed to us and you will be added to our mailing list, managed as set out above.
Hard-copy Gift Aid and sponsorship forms
Supporter names and addresses are captured on paper Gift Aid or sponsorship forms where used. We use this information to claim Gift Aid from HMRC (when applicable) in order to maximise your donation. Name and address details are submitted to HMRC where required in support of a claim. Paper forms are stored securely by trustees and are shredded after the 6 year statutory record period.
Your rights
In addition to the rights outlined above:
- You have the right to ask us not to process your personal data for marketing purposes. We will usually inform you (before collecting your data) if we intend to use your data for such purposes or if we intend to disclose your information to any third party for such purposes. You can exercise your right to prevent such processing by checking certain boxes on the forms we use to collect your data. You can also exercise the right at any time by contacting us at info@rememberingnottoforget.org.uk.
- Our site may, from time to time, contain links to and from the websites of partner organisations or affiliates.
