We were thrilled to be selected as one of three Charities of the Year in 2016, and as Charity of the Year for 2017 by Sackers Law firm.
Caroline Legg, head of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) committee, explains why they selected to support Remembering Not to Forget:
As the number of people diagnosed with dementia increases year on year, more and more of us find ourselves needing to get to grips with different types of dementia as we try to help our families and friends who are affected. The work that Remembering Not to Forget is doing to support those impacted by dementia struck a chord with us, and we felt inspired by the energy and enthusiasm that Ali and Laura and their fellow trustees put into their awareness and fundraising initiatives. We are incredibly pleased to be able to support their efforts and to work with Ali and Laura in the charity’s formative years.
The staff at Sackers hold regular fundraising events to benefit their chosen charities of the year.
Staff kindly donated £262 in June 2016 following a sweepstake for the Euro 2016 football tournament.
In October 2016, the CSR committee organised an auction of 50 promises to celebrate the firm’s 50th anniversary. Promises were provided by staff and ranged from a day at the races to a garden make-over, and from rock climbing and various health and fitness programmes, to a personalised tour of the British Museum! We were delighted to attend the event and overwhelmed by the generosity of staff, who raised over £3,000 for Remembering Not to Forget. Round the World Challenge
In 2017, Sackers supported Remembering Not to Forget’s Round the World Challenge, with their ‘Sackers to Berlin’ challenge aimed at clocking up the miles and helping us circumnavigate the globe through self-powered travel. Alongside a wide range of different forms of self-powered travel, Sackers staff also enjoyed a wine-tasting travelling from London to Berlin. They raised over £13,000 during the year – an incredible total, for which we are extremely grateful.
